Data collected

  • Account: email address, username, profile picture
  • Sports profile: playing level, city/region, court position
  • Matches: scores, results, match history
  • Videos: match videos (image and sound) uploaded for AI analysis and the match replay (Elite analysis)
  • AI analyses: scores, metrics, personalized coaching
  • Subscription: Premium status (managed by RevenueCat)
  • Technical identifiers: push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging), install identifier, Android advertising ID
  • Geolocation: approximate city/region to suggest nearby clubs (only with your explicit consent)
  • Diagnostic data: anonymized error reports via Sentry (stack trace, OS version, technical context — no personal content)
  • Usage data: in-app navigation events (screens viewed, subscription offer displayed, plan selected, purchase completed or abandoned) and subscription events (sign-up, renewal, cancellation, refund)

Use of data

  • Calculate and display your certified ELO
  • Generate AI analyses of your matches: the classic analysis via Gemini (Google), the Elite analysis on machines operated by Linceya
  • Create the replay of your Elite matches and, when sharing is available, the videos you can choose to share
  • Personalize your training plan
  • Display regional and national rankings
  • Manage your Premium subscription
  • Send you push notifications about your matches and analyses
  • Detect and fix bugs (Sentry diagnostics)
  • Improve the app

Data sharing

Your data is never sold. It may be shared with the following processors:

  • Supabase — storage and authentication (EU servers)
  • PowerSync — synchronization of your data (matches, profile, analyses) between our servers and the app on your phone (EU servers)
  • Google Gemini — AI analysis of match videos (classic analysis), coaching texts and training plans (US servers, transfer covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses)
  • Firebase (Google) — push notifications and audience measurement, install attribution, EU/US servers
  • Sentry — error monitoring (EU servers)
  • PostHog — product analytics: subscription journey and usage statistics (EU servers)
  • RevenueCat — management of subscriptions purchased on the App Store and Google Play
  • Stripe — payment for subscriptions purchased on linceya.com

On the linceya.com website only — these tools are not present in the mobile app:

  • Google Analytics — website audience measurement, with IP anonymisation. Until you consent, no cookie is set and only anonymous measurements are sent.
  • Meta (Facebook, Instagram) — advertising campaign measurement
  • TikTok — advertising campaign measurement
  • X — advertising campaign measurement
  • Snapchat — advertising campaign measurement

The four advertising tools are not loaded at all until you accept the "marketing" category in the consent banner. You can change your mind at any time via the "Cookies" link in the footer. They are also deliberately disabled on subscription activation pages, whose addresses contain personal information.

Match videos

Uploaded videos are used solely for AI analysis and, for the Elite analysis, for the match replay and the short videos to share (when sharing is available) described below. For the classic analysis, they are sent to the Google Gemini API and may be temporarily retained by Google in accordance with their terms of use. The Elite analysis is computed on machines operated by Linceya: the video is transferred there from our storage space for the analysis. In that case, the video is not sent to Google Gemini, which only receives numerical measurements from your match (number and types of shots, distance, speeds, time at the net and at the back of the court, duration analyzed), without any images, to write your coaching texts and your training plan. With each Elite analysis, Linceya also keeps a small image (192 pixels wide) of each player in the match, four at most, cropped from the video at the moment they are most visible: it may show their face and outfit. In the app, these images let you recognize yourself and indicate who the other players are. They are stored with the analysis in our database (Supabase, EU servers), kept as long as the match exists in your account, and erased from this database when the match or your account is deleted. If you have linked a coach to your account, they can also see your analyses, including these images. We do not share your videos with other users.

The sound in your videos. Videos filmed with the app also contain the sound recorded by the phone's microphone, which may pick up voices and conversations around the court; a video chosen from your gallery keeps whatever sound it contains. This sound is uploaded and kept with the video and its working copies, never separately, and is deleted with them. A match filmed with the app is also copied, sound included, to your phone's gallery. On Android, from version 10 onwards, the copy is made without asking for your permission. On iPhone, on iPad and on older versions of Android, it is only made with your permission, which the device asks you for and which you can change in its settings. This copy becomes a video like any other in your gallery. Only you manage it, it may be backed up online along with your gallery if you have chosen to (for example with iCloud or Google Photos), and deleting the match or your account does not erase it. For the classic analysis, the video sent to Google Gemini is a lighter copy, without the sound. The Elite analysis does not use the sound, and the videos made from your match for the replay (rally clips shown in the app, videos to share) do not include it. A video sent to have your level assessed is watched and listened to by a Linceya coach, who validates that level.

Match replay (Elite analysis). After an Elite analysis, Linceya may keep an animated summary of a few rallies from the match: your movement on court (path, distance, speed) and where the other players were, stored as plain positions with no image and no identity. This summary is kept as long as the match exists in your account, and erased after the match or your account is deleted. When sharing is available, Linceya also creates short vertical videos of these rallies from your match video, along with preview images. They are stored in a private space reserved for your account: only you can download them, from the app. They are deleted after 30 days, or sooner if the match is deleted. These videos may show the other players on the court: ask for their consent before posting them. Linceya never posts these videos for you: nothing is shared unless you choose to share it.

Rally clips (Elite analysis). When this feature is available, the replay also shows, in the app, the video of each of its rallies (three at most), cut from your match video, without the sound. Unlike the animated summary, these clips are real footage of the match. They show the court, and therefore the other players and the people around the court too, who may be recognizable in them. Like the videos to share, they are stored in the private space reserved for your account. Only you can watch them, from the app. They are deleted from this space after 30 days, or sooner if the match or your account is deleted. To play them, including offline, the app downloads a copy to your phone, into its own storage space and not into your gallery. When you open a replay, the app automatically deletes the copies that have not been used for 7 days. Deleting the match or your account does not erase them right away. They are erased by this clean-up, or along with the app when you delete it. Linceya never posts these clips, and the app does not let you share them. Only the videos to share described above, which show these same rallies, can be shared, and only if you choose to.

Legal basis for processing

In accordance with GDPR (Article 6), we process your data on the following bases:

  • Performance of contract — to provide the Linceya service (AI analysis, ELO, ranking, subscription management)
  • Consent — for geolocation and push notifications (you can withdraw consent at any time in the app settings)
  • Legitimate interest — to improve the app and prevent fraud
  • Legal obligation — to retain billing data

Data retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If your account is deleted, all your personal data is removed within 8 days, except billing data which is kept for 30 days for legal obligations.

Elite analysis working files. On the Linceya machines that compute the Elite analysis, the working files, in particular the player positions computed during the analysis, are kept so that you can, if needed, indicate which player you are ("Which one is you?") or who's who between two players wearing identical kits. These files, along with the working copies of your video, are deleted no later than 30 days after they were last used (for example for an analysis or a correction), even if the analysis was never completed, and sooner if the match is deleted.
